U.S. Commercial Service to Support U.S. Companies at Integrated Systems Russia 2013 – October 29-31, 2013

Washington, D.C. –The U.S. Department of Commerce's U.S. Commercial Service is pleased to announce its Trade Fair Certification Program will be supporting Integrated Systems Russia (ISR) 2013, to be held October 29-31, 2013, Expocentre, in Moscow. Organized by InfoComm International and the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA), ISR is the only B2B event for the audiovisual market in Russia and the region offering the latest professional audio-visual and electronic systems technologies to the commercial and residential systems integration industries.

U.S. Commercial Service staff from the American Embassy in Moscow will be available during the event to assist U.S. firms with their export needs and to facilitate contacts between U.S. exhibitors and business visitors. For more information about exhibiting at ISR 2013, please contact Ms. Meredith Hoydilla (tel.: 703-273-7200 or email: mhoydilla@infocomm.org).

The Trade Fair Certification Program is a cooperative arrangement between private sector trade show organizers and the U.S. Government. The program seeks to broaden the base of U.S. exporters by introducing them to key trade fairs where they can meet their export objectives. The U.S. Commercial Service assists U.S. businesses to export by helping them establish international business relationships. The agency's global network includes locations in more than 100 U.S. offices and in American embassies and consulates in over 75 countries. With over 140 million consumers, a growing middle class, and almost unlimited infrastructure needs, Russia remains one of the most promising markets for U.S. exporters. However, encompassing nine time zones, by landmass Russia is also the largest country in the world and English is not widely spoken, although knowledge of the language is expanding, especially in the major cities. It is an upper middle income country, with a highly educated workforce and sophisticated, discerning consumers. Recent reforms make it easier for companies to hire expatriate employees, but the Russian immigration and visa system requires time and patience for business travelers to obtain necessary permissions to do business in Russia.

The Russian economy continues the transition from a closed, centrally planned economy to a more open, market economy. This means that basic business information about regulations, company ownership and credit worthiness are not always easy to find, and the regulatory framework continues to evolve requiring companies to stay up-to-date with changes. The U.S. Commercial Service offers the International Company Profile service as a way to evaluate potential partners.
